i found out last week that i get to do a thesis paper on Jurassic Park. :3 im excited for it plus the book is hundreds of times better than the movie. i mean who could resist people + dinos + crazy old people who made dinos + deathly mystery of dinos going to other continents cause they have mad sneaking skillz. plus its just gratifying seeing a character you dont like get eated by a dinosaur! and it proves the chaos theory prevails : ]

I recently read and fell in love with the Cal Leandros Series by Rob Thurman, I picked up the first book, Nightlife at a thrift store about a year ago, but I was too busy with all of the books for school. I thought it was a stand-alone novel, but to my (pleasant) surprise, it's a series ^^

    Some other notable books/series:

Suck it Up by Brian Meehl
Thirsty by M.T. Anderson (I will never forgive him for what he did to Chris)
The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod by Heather Brewer
The Sword of Truth Series by Terry Goodkind
    Midnighters Series by Scott Westerfeld
    Peeps by Scott Westerfeld

I just finished The Dresden Files series by Jim Butcher. If you like fantasy genre it kind of has it all--wizards, faeries, demons, ghosts, Knights of the Cross, vampires, etc. It reads a little like a supernatural Criminal Minds if that makes sense.

My favorite book is Tolkien's Lord of the Rings however. ^_^ And I'm currently reading Thinking Based Learning by Schwartz, Costa, and Beyer. I'd actually recommend it as well as it gives you a different look at the educational systems and what is truly lacking in our society.

I love to read. I bought a nook which I carry around constantly, but I rarely get the chance to. Just so busy normally. But things that I've read recently (as in the past year) were...

The Hunger Game series by Suzanne Collins (a really great trilogy, just didn't like the ending)
Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs by Chuck Klosterman (this is my second time reading it, its really witty and satiracal)
Homeland and Exile by R.A. Salvatore (I'm not a D&D fan but these books are actually really interesting if you like fantastical books about fighting and magic)
Dune by Frank Herbert (another re-read, but completely worth it, this is such an amazing book)
A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin (I just started this one, it was a referral from some friends and so far its been great, I'm definitely going to be reading the others in this series)

So there are some suggestions...and (it doesn't really even need to be said but) the Harry Potter series is always worth reading and re-reading ~_^.

Shonen: have you read Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time books? Or anything by Melanie Rawn or Michelle West? I have seen Salvatore but never read anything...too many books so little time. :P

That Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs title makes me laugh--I may have to read that. What other genres do you like?

"The Book thief" by Markus Zusak.

It's a story told by death itself, and very well written.
