    Default Death note

So surprised no ones posted this yet....

    So here we go:

    Death Note:
    - is a Japanese manga series created by writer Tsugumi Ohba and illustrator Takeshi Obata. The series centers on Light Yagami, a high school student who discovers a supernatural notebook, the titular "Death Note", dropped on Earth by a shinigami (death god) named Ryuk. The Death Note grants its user the ability to kill anyone whose face they have seen, by writing the victim's name in the notebook with a picture of the victim in his mind, due to that there is the possibility of several people having the same name. The story follows Light's attempt to create and rule a world cleansed of evil using the notebook, and the complex conflict between him and his opponents.

Death note is one of my favorite manga because 1) It has a solid plotline with, unlike most anime, little to no fillers. 2) It has all the appeal of a complex cat-and-mouse murder mystery with the added supernatural aspect of the shinigami and the Death note with its specific rules. 3) It raises important philisophical questions about Capital punishment : Is it right to kill people who kill people? Is justice still justice even when administered outside the law? Would Kira really create a better world by killing off criminals?

Death Note is an amazing anime, and those who have never watched or read it SHOULD as soon as possible. Those who have, Great! now you have no excuse not to comment, because God knows theres lots of thing to comment on that I haven't mentioned.

So post away, my little minions. POST.

I love Death Note, and I'm a Kira supporter (haha). There's just so many people in the world that just shouldn't be here, so I'm all for vigilante justice when the government doesn't protect those who need protecting. It's not like Light just went around slaughtering petty crooks or anything, either... just the people who deserved to die (other than the people who got in his way... they didn't really deserve it).

Plus, manga-Light and I share a birthday (*is old*). I'm speaking of the original release, though... I don't know if they changed it for the official English release or not so it'd match the anime. (I think they list his birthday as 1989 in the anime, while in the manga it's 1986.)

Has anyone else read Another Note? If you haven't, I suggest picking it up. It's the story of Misora Naomi and her work with L on the Los Angeles BB murder cases. It's really good insight into her character, and of course, a little expansion on the mystery of L.

i loved the LABB case story :3 i just wish that they would illustrate it one day because then i think it would come more in depth.... but it might be hard to do with all of the changing character views
