When Hoshino added the three crew members from Anita's ship, I thought they were just going to be dispensible characters that could be easily killed off because the readers didn't have any attactment to them. And then Chaoji didn't die and we learned his name and his backstory and blah blah blah. But we have never been given a redeeming quality for him so that we can like him, he just complains all the time. And his innocence is lame. So yeah, Chaoji...LAME, but maybe Hoshino is going to develop him some for in future chapters, if we ever see future chapters that is.
