i just read the raw scans and there is a continuation of lenalee talking/reacting to kanda upon his return. it's kind of a fluff scene between them, in my opinion. i am not sure why hoshino does this sort of thing but i suppose it fuels the fangirl flames and that does well for popularity.

anyway, look forward to the scanlation any day now :-)

i am still trying to decide between whether i'm frustrated with this chapter or amused because i keep going back and forth...

as a 'shipper, i am unhappy that the words that lenalee should be saying are actually coming out of johnny's mouth. every chapter i wait for her to say something redeeming but, no, still the same stuff every time.

and then hoshino decides to toy with everyone by giving a komui/bak simultaneous head-exploding moment but it's because of kanda's actions toward lenalee, not allen or lavi. i must admit, that part was extremely amusing. i actually chuckled out loud looking at their expressions. as for kanda, now that he is free as he has self-proclaimed and obviously he is sincere and earnest about his choice to be an exorcist since his innocence crystallized for him, maybe he is also free to pursue other things....like being interested in women. he has come to terms with his past and is moving on, thankfully.

i just loved kanda's expression while he was drinking out of lenalee's hand, he knew exactly what he was doing and how komui and bak would react (his snide expression is obvious) and he enjoyed making them freak out, including lenalee lol. kanda's an ass, but this is why i <3 him. calling lenalee all ugly and bloated (and her resulting reaction) was also hilarious. he knew she must have cried a lot when allen left and was just pointing that out in his own kanda way.

in the end, i still foresee the fabulous four - allen, lavi, kanda, lenalee -- fighting alongside each other against their true foe.

Oh, I started to dislike Johnny in this chapter...it seriously sounds more like a crush than conviction. It was just way too over the top.

I found the bit with Kanda and Lenalee amusing, although I think for him he has found some peace and perhaps feels free to show a gentleness he felt he couldn't show previously. Everyone cares about Lenalee and there is a bond between Kanda and Lenalee; I just think it's not romantic. My first thoughts when he was drinking out of her hand were "oh gawd...there go the fangirls."

But when I look at Kanda's personality though, I still don't think they have a leg to stand on. Lenalee is so obviously taken with Allen and he with her. Second, Kanda likes to tease and make people a little uncomfortable. Even before he left with Alma, he would say and do things to get under people's skin not just to anger them, but as a form of fondness. I can completely see him also being a complete gentlemen now that he feels he can show his softer side. It's just a bonus that it gets to Bak and Komui. And Lenalee herself really didn't leave him a choice--and I think he was even teasing her a bit because he knew it would make her uncomfortable since 1. he's never acted like that and 2. she's so fixated on Allen.

So yeah, I found it amusing once I got over the sound of obsessed fangirls--happy or mad. Ah, sweet logic. And I hope they get to fight together soon--and that we get to find out what happens to Lavi. (And Allen, but Lavi seems to just be in the token "I'm still here" panel and that's it. No one is really even talking about him!)
