Ehh, been soo long!
Every time I want to say something - I scroll down and find that someone's already said it!
On the point of Neah picking Allen as his host...
firstly, if your ambition is strong (as Neah's is) - surely he wouldn't risk putting his future self in an unfit (unable to fight) body?
Anyway, Neah fought and died 35 years ago? Allen's 17ish? How could Neah have picked?
From what I've seen of the Noah, their recarnations can be any human - any where, and at any time. Neah is a Noah, so what would have made him special enough to choose his own future host (who hadnt existed at the time?)
and yes, awesome chapter - I shall go and comment on that discussion bit now![]()

Allen is 15 I believe. I guess my question is, if we are talking reincarnation why couldn't Nea pick Allen? Why would they have to meet physically? We don't know with certainty that the other Noah do not "pick" their host in some fashion. It may just depend on the personality of the Noah...Allen and Skin didn't seem to be aware of being Noah at first, where as Wisely or whatever seemed to be. We just don't know enough about the Noah to do much more than speculate on it in my opinion. But I totally understand what you mean by seeing someone else state a point you want to make...it's kind of nice sometimes to know you aren't way out on a limb in what you think though. ^_~

Maybe it's not about the Noah themselves, but the will of the host?
With Wisely, his host was a homeless, uneducated man. He was hardly going to put up a strong mental fight against the Noah inside him.
Skin likely had very good determination/strength (he was a builder/heavy labour, so I'd expect some resistance).
Allen knows who his attacker is (somewhat), has grown very strong (from Mana's death + Innocence evolving/his own will and determination evolving). Surely he can put up the best fight against the Noah so far?
(This theory also suggests that Tyki's host was strong/still consious somewhat to prevent his full power being used?)

Erm, I disagree with a few things. First, homeless does not mean uneducated. There are people who choose to be homeless or "appear" homeless and depending upon why they are homeless they may or may not be educated. Second, just because someone is homeless/poor/uneducated/etc. does not mean there is anything wrong with their mental strength or functioning.
I agree, that any person has to fight their own internal "demons" be they Noah or otherwise, but I don't think that has anything to do with station in life, education, etc. If Nea chose Allen, he may have looked specifically for one with innocence or whatever to suit his cause. To which the question is not necessarily why did he chose Allen so much as what are his plans for Allen?

I think it's safe to say that as DGM is set at the end of the 19th Century, they wouldn't ensure everyone's educated.
It looked like England, the police uniform was old, and they checked for money before attempting to help (before NHS). This leads me to believe that it was not the England I know where the majority of people are educated. I didn't mean it to sound as though all homeless people are uneducated.
I don;t mean that their mental strength was weak... *how do I put this?* ... I feel as though Wisely's host wasn't taught much beyond what he needed to live, and he didn't need to comprehend that which didn't concern him, or didn't exist... He's not worth any less, or any 'weaker' but... I just don't feel that this host was that strong... He was likely cold, hungery, less knowledgeable than most surrounding humans (which probably made his lack moral/feel weak?)...
What I mean is; Wisely's host didn't stand much of a chance against his Noah. Allen might.
Well, if we knew why he chose Allen, we'd know his plans. If we only knew that his plans were to overtake Allen, we still wouldn't know why he chose Allen. :P Still, any knowledge I can gather I'd like to have.

I understand what you are saying, I just disagree. You can't tell a person's strengths and weaknesses based upon that, despite what media portrays. (Not to mention the number of "uneducated" people who are far stronger than those who are "educated.")
True strength is a different subject all together. If the Noah can pick their hosts, it is done for a reason specific to that Noah I would guess so in that sense Wisely's host would have to have a certain strength in whatever area he valued. Wisely may have selected his host because the host had valued the same things in life, so he wouldn't have to worry about the host trying to resist as much. It wouldn't have anything to do with being strong or educated or susceptible...it would be normal behavior for the host anyway, so the host might accept the Noah readily just because they have similar objectives. We don't know enough about Wisely or his host to say.
But I think it will take strength other than just mental and physical strength to overcome any Noah. I think it will require a great deal of emotional and spiritual strength as well.
