As soon as Millie entered the clearing in the forest, her heart thumped hard and loud. The meadow in front of her eyes began to blur, and she tried to swallow. Slowly, she approached the horrible sighting, ignoring the sickly, stomach-churning scent that entered her nose.

A few steps behind her, Lavi and Lenalee followed.

"Millie, did..." Lavi trailed off as his eyes breathed in the nightmare before him.

Lenalee gasped loudly and collapsed onto her knees, covering her face. Lavi froze, his left eye wide. He held back the urge to plug his nose.

Tears streamed down Millie's face, and her knees met the scarlet-coated forest floor. Many thoughts flashed across her mind, but there was nothing she could do now.

Lavi shut his eye and breathed deeply, but the smell made it worse. Swallowing hard, he knelt on the burgundy ground beside Lenalee. Still trying to stay calm, he took off his scarf and gently wrapped it around Lenalee's shaking shoulders.

Millie's whole body shivered violently. Tears were raining down her face uncontrollably. Never had she ever felt so weak and useless before. It took all of her energy to say his name, even though it was just barely a whisper.

"Allen."

Hearing it made her heart wrench. It felt as if a thousand pins were stabbing at her chest, aching. She wept.

Still shaking, Lenalee buried her face against Lavi's chest. She couldn't stand the redness anymore, the smell or the thoughts. She needed to get out of here.

Lavi rubbed Lenalee's back comfortingly, as it was no harder for him as it was for her.

Lenalee felt like screaming when she suddenly heard the faint voice of Allen.

"...And Lenalee who cares more about her friends than the world..."

Lavi gasped as Allen's voice traveled to his head.

"I will protect... my friends!"

But Allen's voice had been echoing inside Millie's head for quite some time now.

"Welcome to the Black Order... This is going to be your home now... That's your room right there... Did you see that Akuma?... Congratulations on your first mission... You're a great person, Millie... What do you like most about here?... Thank you..."

And the lullaby, the beautiful, angellic lullaby...

It was all too much for her. She felt like her head would burst. In fact, she wouldn't mind so much if it did. She couldn't bear to fight without him. She needed him... to assure her that everything would be fine... that in the end, everything would be okay... that someday, they would look back and say, "That was a tough time!"...

She needed him.

Lavi desperately recollected himself and found his voice.

"We should be heading back now."

Those six words made Lenalee cry even more. She knew it was true, that they couldn't do anything about it, but she didn't want to believe it.

But Millie didn't move. Instead she lay on the crimson-coloured ground, on her back first, then her right, then to her left. The smell was worse, but she didn't mind. It was the only thing they had left of him, his blood.

Watching Millie made Lavi feel helpless. He tried again.

"Millie... there's nothing we can do to help him... He isn't an Exorcist anymore..." He shut his eye and calmed himself before talking again. "He's a Noah."


This is just a little something I wrote, inspired by the idea of Allen becoming the 14th Noah. I thought it would be fun to write about what it would be like when he turns into a Noah, so here it is. I tried to make it so that the reader wouldn't know exactly what happened to Allen until Lavi actually says it, but I don't know if it actually worked or not. This piece is actually kind of embarassing, and I've wondered a lot about whether to post this or not. Millie is an Original Character I created, and I thought I'd just pop her in there. She's kind of attracted to Allen, if you haven't noticed. Oh, and if you're wondering, she's an Exorcist, with long, blonde hair and green eyes. I'll put more detail about her anti-akuma weapon and her past and stuff later, if I have time. If you want to tell me about any mistakes or grammar or anything, or any suggestions and whatnot, feel free to let me know.

Anyway, the voice that was ringing in Lenalee, Lavi and Millie's heads was a result of them recalling Allen's words, right?
