I'm surprised that no one has put this one up yet. Anyway.... Drum roll please..... *drum roll*...........................

Kanda VS Lavi!

Stats: Both are equipment type innocence users. Kanda using his sword and Lavi using his retractable hammer.
Both have various "levels" of fighting power and both use interesting powers with both.

Being more specific... (just because it's easier...)

Kanda is a brilliant swordsman, and knows how to control his weapon and fight extremely well. He also has 3 release levels for his sword Mugen. He can not only send out his little minions with his slashes, but he also has the ability to create a secondary sword to fight in his second release level, and not to mention the vast power increase that he receives in his "taboo" third release. Kanda also has the power of his tattoo, which seems to speed up his recovery something fierce, and also seems to stop him getting killed, and his innocence from being completely obliterated (see the fight with Skin as your example for that one).

Lavi knows how to use his weapon. On many occasions we see him using the size changes on his hammer to his advantage which shows not only the physical versatility of his weapon, but also the fact that he can think quickly in the heat of battle. Combined with that, Lavi also has the vast and encompassing attacks of his elemental seals, which can be quite devastating indeed, especially when he can combine them together, which not only gives him amazing power, but further versatility with his attacks.

This is NOT an easy one to call. Both are very strong, have a great range and number of attacks that they can utilise, and are equally resourceful.

I think Kanda would just edge out Lavi, because physically I think Kanda is a bit stronger than Lavi. Both are very very strong, however in terms of individual physical stats, i think that Kanda is a bit stronger and faster than Lavi.
That being said, Lavi's attacks are vicious... His fire-snakes (pardon my forgetting the proper name for them) are one mean attack, so it could easily go the other way if Lavi can get those attacks in.

I love reading these!...but right now its early, and I'm not thinking too clearly, so a lot of this went right over my head. You're right though...I've thought about this one before, and it is not an easy one to call. Both are great fighters with powerful attacks, and they know how to use them and use them well. (which, as Im going back, is pretty much what you just said, except way simplified for my drowsy brain)
What I'd like to know is:
WHY isn't there a video game of simulation so we could test these theories out? Better yet, why can't we bring Lavi and Kanda OUT of 'a fictional 19th century England' and test it out?

I personally think Lavi would win,but I might be wrong,I mean,who knows?

REASONS
1.Lavi's hammer can stretch around like rubber,so if Lavi's reaction spots Kanda from the attacking angle,his hammer could easily extend to the back of Kanda without him knowing and hit him hard.

2.Lavi's "SEAL" attacks are indeed strong,but Kanda's agility could easily dodge them,but then again,don't forget that if Lavi used "Fire Seal",Kanda's speed and agility wont help him dodge those Snakes made of fire,cos remember that Allen wasnt able to outrun the snakes from chasing him,and cutting ONE snake only makes it become 2 so Mugen isn't helpful in that situation.


But then,maybe Kanda would win.Who knows?We will never get the answer.

I think Kanda would win since Lavi's attacks seem to take a little time to get ready while Kanda could just close the distance and attack...

I think that Yuu would win..
Lavi si strong and a bookman and all.. but still.. Kanda can regenerate and he's faster and stronger... ohh and he doesn't lack the concentration or the killer instinct (definately not .. ) and he wouldn't hestitate to kill Lavi if he needed too

hmm..i personally like kanda ofcourse!!ahaha..but he is really a good swordsman and all the techniques are well used with mugen..and we also know about the tattoo on kanda's left chest..thats a big factor in concern for combat..even though lavi can use the the different elements i think being a sword fighter has the biggest chance to win! ) well that was just my opinion..who knows eh?!

I'd say Kanda has a better chance of winning, not just because of regenerative abilities and other enhancements as a second, but more of will power. I can't really imagine Lavi going all out with emotions like Kanda can when he fought Skinn.

Putting that aside, the regeneration pretty much makes nuclear fission a requirement for killing him; Lavi can't muster that up with his hammer.

I think it's Kanda who would win. It's purely because of speed and type of attack. Sure, Lavi can burn you, but Kanda can slice you.

I'd have to agree with Rhode on that. I mean, Kanda's been training his combat skills since 9 years ago, haven't he? He's a very speedy guy, and he could get into close combat range with Lavi. The burns of the snakes from Lavi will only slow Kanda down, not completely stop Kanda's movements. I'd vote for Kanda on this one :P (Sorries Lavi v.v)

As much as i love Lavi, I have to say Kanda would win. Lavi's attacks are a little on the slow side and are not that great for close combat. Given, he does have those elemental seal thingys, but unless he could find a way to keep Kanda a good distance away, he would lose. Kanda has speed on his side and as soon has he could move in close, Lavi wouldn't have a chance.
