    Default XP or Vista

I like XP better than Vista. Vista has given me many troubles I didn't have with XP. I've even started to wonder if I should change back.

I like XP. D: I hate Vista, they have the programs I usually run, with difficulties that I never had with XP. Vista lags too. D:

I have a mac, but On my desktop, I use XP home edition. Vista comes overloaded with useless crap you don't need. It's unorganized and takes too much time to figure out.

I.... don't remember much about XP >.< so I'll have to say Vista, even though it pisses me off at times.

Jeez people, Vista doesn't even have half the problems XP had when it came out. You're complaining about lag? Seriously. That would've been a blessing if that was the only problem with XP when it came out. Don't get me even started on ME >.<. Well that's why I stuck with 98 till 2002/2003.

Just let the bugs get worked out. I'ts not going to take as long this time either, since the issues aren't really having much to do with the source.
Sometimes it's because whatever programs you are running weren't coded properly well enough to fully take advantage of the capabilities of vista yet.

Vista is that good. But if you have XP now. Just stick it out with XP for now. Don't upgrade. Just go out and get a new computer if you don't want lag. Running Vista on too old of a computer is like running a Game on max capacity your computer is able to do, while the computer is acting as if your virtual memory is being used half or more of its capacity. That's probably the lag you're talking about right? Chances are you upgraded a computer that is too old to be running Vista in it's own right. It may have the capacity to run it.

But chances are it isn't even going to run Crysis you went out and upgraded for anyways, rofl. I know someone this occurred to, so just go and get a decent Vist compy. Ultimate is the way to go imo. And chances are unless you're getting ripped off badly... substituting Home Edition/Premium, with Ultimate should never exceed $100 USD. Myself, I'd never pay more than $50 for the subbing of it, and look around for a $25 upgrade on a Quad core Pentium. Because with a quad core, vista is the lord of Operating systems.

If none of those are the issue, go ask someone else because I don't read program manuals unless I need to rofl. By the way, I don't think I ever have had to since I was about 5 :P.

I prefer Vista, actually.. I like the layout better... (Hates the XP layout with a passion, but I've no choice since my Vista laptop broke down)
And Ahdharr's right.. When I was using Vista, it didn't get as lag as I hear others do... Probably depends on whether you use an upgraded version or a brand new computer..

I prefer Vista too. I haven't faced any problems yet, so I don't have anything to complain about it.

Like I said just give it some time for them to work out the bugs and you'll find it to be probably one. As for what addenza said, the layout is more smooth and easier to switch between programs, plus the overall manner in which they have the actual setup of program windows and the start tab system is FAR less of a hassle...

Also, the tabbing between programs is much faster and easier than XP too, which is nice for when you're working on a paper or gaming when your parents told you not to. But I don't have to deal with that anymore in college. ^^
