| Senior Member | Of course it's a plot-hole that Kenpachi couldn't even beat Shikai-Ichigo in SS arc, but bested Ichigo in HM arc against Nnoitora. Which makes me think.... Why didn't he use Kendo against Ichi in SS? He said it has been one of his long used trump cards. |

| Meh, I wondered this too, but I think he was to interested in battling to think clearly(Pure Speculation)though I do believe that Ichigo's Shikai at that moment was at full-power, and we have not seen it again.

| Well, he lost to Ichigo in SS cos he wasn't using full power than, obviously he used full power at Nnoitra cos Nnoitra is stronger than Ichigo... Plus, when fighting Ichigo none of them died, so it wasn't a "life or death" fight..But with Nnoitra it was...Cos Ichigo, even if he was an intruder he was still a Shinigami, but Nnoitra is an Arrancar...So it means, Zaraki never planned on killing Ichigo, but planned to kill Nnoitra...

| Gotta agree there... Kenpachi wouldn't give away a fight for anything... But, could we for a moment consider that he'd forgotten in the heat of battle? In different fights you need to use different tactics for different opponents, so you could always just say that he was approaching the 2 fights with a different mindset. The fight with Ichigo was certainly about power, but it was more based around "fear" and around intimidation. The fight with Nnoitra however was simply a bloodbath fight to prove who was stronger (which yes involves intimidation, but is more centred around ego and fighting "skill" as opposed to simple survival instincts). Both fights had intellectual standpoints, however, each was coming from a different direction. That's my view on it anyway

| Maybe then the explanation is that Ichigo while fighting Zaraki did not intend to kill him,so Zaraki was not fighting like his life is on the line.. With Nnoitra,Zaraki felt more threatened,so he fought more seriously and killed Nnoitra.. But still,I don't believe Zaraki was at full power while fighting Ichigo..for 2 reasons: 1st: He didn't use both hands on the sword as he did with Nnoitra 2nd: In the fight with Nnoitra he said "man,i'm really gonna die like this" So,Nnoitra was stronger than Ichigo,so Zaraki fought harder.. Also.......Ichigo is the main character,Nnoitra is the bad guy...Tite Kubo just refuses to let poor bad guys live...He killed my Szayel after all.... ![]() I think that's the problem in Bleach...The same thing happened with Mayuri vs Ishida and Ishida vs Szayel and Szayel vs Mayuri... Ishida defeated Mayuri in soul society..Ishida could not defeat Szayel with Renji's help...but Mayuri defeated Szayel......LOL, inaccuracy...
