    Default The Earl as Adam...

Okay, so the Earl's 'true" Noah name is Adam right?

I think it's a bit significant that he shares a name with the first human being ever created. So here's my theory:

God makes everything, including Adam and Eve, the first man and woman respectively. Then, the whole Forbidden Fruit thing goes down and Adam and Eve end up expelled from Paradise. From what we know, Biblical folk had incredibly long lives by today's standards, so he may have lived for a bit, maybe even to the Noah's Ark era. And he's probably had time to mull over his lot in life. God has indirectly caused the death of one son and banished the other to a life of persecution and misery. Then there the Eden thing, which when you think about it is tantamount to throwing a child out on the streets for breaking a seemingly arbitrary rule that in the child's opinion (however flawed it may be) seems to hinder the child.

He's royally pissed off at God and decides He's a tyrannical ass. But God offers Adam one last chance into Paradise, if he wipes out the wicked creatures humans have become. So he takes his followers and the Ark given to him by God and goes about his task.

However, God has no intention of letting Adam and his kin back into Paradise after they've been tainted. He hands over Innocence to humanity and tells them to fight the Earl. [I want to bring up a point here about the name of God's Holy Weapon: Innocence. It's what Adam and Eve can be presumed to have lost when they gained ate from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. So God (maybe realizing his error, or seeking to correct the "mistake" Adam and Eve made) gives Innocence back to mankind. And with Innocence, the Accomadators can free the Akuma and cleanse the Dark Matter from their souls. Plus, Dark Matter seems to be derived from and strengthened by feelings of loss, hopelessness and hatred if the Alma incident tells us anything. And what would you feel if you had felt your Father and Creator had unjustly thrown you out to fend for yourself?] It's the last straw. Adam and his followers are done. God has screwed them over and they're fed up. So, they resolve to kill God himself and end his tyrranical reign over humanity. The Earl and his forces win, and the world is destroyed in a Flood. The Earl begins to build his new kingdom to replace God. But the damage is done. humans have Innocence and to them, the Earl is a monster opposed to their God. All they see is the bloodshed and death, not the intention of helping lift humanity from the shackles of a violent, angry God. The Black Order is founded to train and recruit Accomadators to fight the Earl. THings don't go as smoothly as planned and he's forced to wait for the culmination of his plans.

Eventually, he loses his noble goals. His desire to end God's tyranny over humanity is twisted into a desire to be a God just as vile and nasty as the one he's rebelling against. The 14th, the one closest to the Earl, sees this. So Neah resolves to kill the Earl, take his place and set the rest of the Noah back on their true path. Or as he seems to see it, destroy the Noah, who've fallen far from their lofty goals and motives.

It's mostly conjecture I admit, and there are parts even I'm fuzzy on in there, and it is just something that came to me off the top of my head.

Anyway, thoughts on the importance-or lack thereof-of the Earl's true name?

Ohh, also, the "stigmata" the Noah have seem pretty similar to a mark a certain first murderer was given. It marks them as "Evil" (from God's perspective anyway) and makes them incredibly long lived (granted, Cain's mark just forbids anyone from killing him).

Woah, awesome theory. You dont have any major flaws in it, and DGM would fit around this... Admittibly, multiple Noahs are a fuzzy area but im sure someone could come up with a reason for the other Noahs following your idea...

But at the same time, isnt it a little bit simple? now that you've said it, It may be even more complicated.. For instance, God is omniscient (supposidly) so he knows what would happen/could and how to prevent any of it... If God (following Christianity) loves every one of us, why would he turn humans against his first creation (and not smite them out himself or make then face a less fatal punishment with more hope of the Noah returning to Gods side)?

... I think through every theory, 'God' is the one who knows and could prevent all this evil from the Noahs/Humans is a flaw... as in life, i think we have to wonder why a God would allow this... So maybe the Earl is actually correct (following your theory) to turn against this cruel god? And such a long life of war would turn anyone as lucid as the Earl, but he ought to not have forgotten the reason he fights against this God so easily?

    hmm... so yes, GREAT theory
