    Default Kandas tattoo

    Oh.
    My.
    God.

I am so surprised that no ones posted anything about this yet.
Has it been revealed in the anime or something?
Because I have (finally!) finished the manga released so far, and it doesn't explain his tattoo ANYWHERE. All I know is that it helps him heal much faster than normal and that its draining his life (book 2 pg...somewhere near the end, I could look it up but I really dont feel like it)
So, I'm not going to post my theory until I'm sure the answer hasn't already been revealed.

    Damn.
I really really need to start watching the anime again.

If you read the latest chapters you see that Kanda was an experimentation subject under the direction of the BRO. His tattoo is relative the number of cells from the "womb" remaining in his body. While the other, more recent experiments have powers that pretain to the current battle circumstances and fighting, the powers Kanda received from the "womb" were healing only. I assume that's because he was one of the first test subjects and they were unable to push his body further. Or it may have something to do with the fact that he is also equipped with the ability to wield his innocence.

Anyway, the tattoo is some sort of gauge pretaining the amount of life left in his body. ~Shrugs.~ Thats how it came off in the battle between him and Skin.

It does heal him and is implied to shorten his lifespan but...Alma is the womb and only became the womb after he and yu had fought and stuff. And he has the tattoo before that...one of the scientists mentions a healing talisman bein affixed to yu's body so maybe that's it?
